Thanks for visiting my blog. It's sort of a running history of the trials and tribulations of raising a busy family. I work full time as a nurse and my husband is at home keeping the rest of our lives in some sort of order. Life is busy, fun and challenging every single day. I hope you enjoy our story!

Cool things I can do now that I am ONE!!!!!

Yes....it's true, our baby turned 1 today. Where did the year go? Can't believe it's already over. She is such a big girl now. Here are the new cool things she can do now:

Walk. She has completely given up crawling for this method of getting around. With a few bumps and bruises, she is on her way.

Climb. This actually happened before walking. She seems to think that anything on the ground must be climbed on. She can climb up onto the couch, onto the dog and even climbed up the backstop one weekend at T ball. Luckily, she has not climbed out of her crib yet, but I'm sure that will be next.

Talk. She said her first "real" word the other day "Hi". Well, we are counting it as her first word, although it wasn't quite that clear. Of course she has said "uh-oh" for some time now but I'm not sure if that's technically a word.

Wave- goodbye and hello....loves to wave.

Fish. Well....actually Alex fished for her, but we did take her in the boat today for the first time. She was so frustrated with the life jacket and the fact that she couldn't just walk wherever she wanted that we only lasted about 45 minutes. Oh well, she got to touch a fish for the first time.

Drink from a "real" cup.....well, just a sippy cup, but better than the bottle!

Use utensils. When we gave her birthday cake at her party on Saturday, she just kind of looked at us like we were crazy. Then we gave her a fork and she was all over it. Such a smart kid. Of course right before this she managed to stick her foot in the cake and was licking frosting from her toes. (see above picture).

Happy Birthday Princess!
