Thanks for visiting my blog. It's sort of a running history of the trials and tribulations of raising a busy family. I work full time as a nurse and my husband is at home keeping the rest of our lives in some sort of order. Life is busy, fun and challenging every single day. I hope you enjoy our story!

Move Over

This morning as I was trying to get the morning "stuff" done (breakfast, dishes, etc) I saw Sarah going back and forth into her room, coming out with various items and bringing them into the living room. When I went out to check on her, this is what I found....

Could she be any stinkin cuter??????

Dog training- Sarah style

Available to come to your house and train your animal.

First Communion

Not much to say except I somehow got the dates wrong so it was a week earlier than we had thought and didn't find that out until 2 days before! Those of you who know me well know that last minute, non-planned events are just not my thing. But, it all worked out. If you don't look too closely at the cake (which was really a b-day cake) and you just remember what the day was actually about, you will probably agree that in the end it's not really about the "stuff" that goes with it. I'm just glad Alex did not do anything inappropriate :)

Easter in May

Well, we actually celebrated Easter on the appropriate date but due to grad school and work lately I have hardly had time to breathe, let alone blog, so my apologies :)

Sarah was quite excited for the "munny" as she says (not great with the Bs yet).

And, in case you are wondering- if you eat your chocolate "munny" like this.....
Your face will likely look like this.....

(Yes, hunting for eggs is a dangerous sport and helmets are recommended)
Happy (belated) Easter :)

The best way to measure humidity

No fancy gadgets needed. Just put Sarah outside and see how curly her hair gets. If it looks like this.....
 Or this....
Or most especially this....
You can bet there is a bit of moisture in the air :)

The Big 0-7

Yep, it's true- Anna turned 7 last week. Where does time go? I asked Anna if 7 was going to be less sassy than 6 and she told me that was not likely. Probably a preview of our year ahead. This year was the first time we let her invite friends to her birthday party. It was also the first year we did not have it at our house (instead it was at the local nature center). All things considered, it was a great day and Anna had a really fun time!

Tales of the Teeth

Just about from the time the kids were born there has been some discussion of teeth. When will they get them? They are drooling a lot, surely they are teething. If they get teeth, they will be able to eat so much easier. Etc, etc, etc. And now, with two well into the losing teeth as quickly as Alex loses lunchboxes stage, the talk of teeth continues. After all, as parents we waited anxiously for them to get their first teeth (and all 3 of them made us wait until after their first birthdays), then there is always a molar or two popping up which can be the blame for various afflictions (crabbiness, diarrhea, insomnia, etc). And, then, when they start school, we start talking about loose teeth and just how loose are they, how to get them out, etc. And, in a way, it is comforting- a constant topic- a certain cycle of childhood that seems to go on forever. Until, one day, when the baby teeth start falling out like mad, and you realize that the same teeth you are holding in your hand now are the ones that you were so over-excited about so many quick years ago. And time flies. And you can't put the baby teeth back in. And you can't make them babies again. All those memories stored in the sweet, innocent baby tooth so carefully now tucked under the pillow awaiting a visit from the tooth fairy (who may or may not remember to come).

And so, we will relish our last baby teeth, as they are leaving us quickly. Funny how such a small
thing can transform a sweet face from a baby to a kid.

At least we have one who still has all her baby teeth :)

And, here they all are, looking far too grown up :(
